GSMP Announces this year's Shepherds of Peace Honorees
Good Shepherd Mediation Program will hold its 7th Annual Shepherds of Peace dinner and awards ceremony at 6:00 p.m., on Wednesday, October 17th, 2012 at the Union League. Three outstanding individuals will be honored this year: •Rev. George W. Bur, S.J. – Jesuit priest who initiated the Ignatian College Connection working with disadvantaged children and their families at Gesu School through Saint Joseph’s Prep and Saint Joseph’s University •Edward Blumstein – Family Mediator; creator of the Temple Law School Domestic Relations Mediation Clinic •Tricia S. FREE Youth Mediator Training
Good Shepherd Mediation Program is seeking young people, ages 12 to 17, who are interested in becoming mediators so they can help friends and family members settle their disputes more effectively and peacefully. This FREE, three-day training will take place at Good Shepherd Mediation Program (GSMP)on August 27, 28 & 29, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. The training will focus on communication and conflict resolution, problem solving, decision-making skills and agreement writing. Participants MUST attend all 24 hours of the workshop to receive a certificate of completion and be eligible to mediate at GSMP. Read More...

5th Annual Shepherds of Peace Dinner and Awards Ceremony
The 5th Annual Shepherds of Peace dinner and awards ceremony was held on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the Union League on Broad Street in Philadelphia. Each year, in conjunction with international Conflict Resolution Day, Good Shepherd Mediation Program honors several individuals who have been instrumental in encouraging peace and social justice in Philadelphia and names them “Shepherds of Peace.” Read More...
