Lunch & Learn

What Custody & Divorce Mediators Need to Know about the Impact of the 2019 Tax Revisions

Join us for a Lunch and Learn with Eileen Murphy to hear about the challenges in custody, support, and divorce cases which have emerged as a result of recent changes in the tax code.  Specifically, the change from dependent exemptions to a child tax credit and the elimination of the alimony deduction means that mediators may need to help parties work through different issues and think creatively about solutions.

Eileen Murphy is an associate with Berner Klaw and Watson LLP where she exclusively practices family law.  She was previously an associate with the Law Offices of Michael E. Fingerman and clerked for the Superior Court of New Jersey Family Division in Atlantic County. She represents families across the economic spectrum in divorce, support, and custody matters. She is also involved in the Pennsylvania Bar Association Family Law Section and the Philadelphia Bar Association Family Law Section where she is currently serving as treasurer.  When not practicing law, Eileen lives in Philadelphia with her husband and two young sons.
